What do you think of when you imagine the phrase “Truck of the Year”? You’re probably imaging heavy-duty power and strength, great towing capacity, versatile body configurations, maybe even some off-roading options. You’d probably guess “American,” too – but you’d be wrong. At the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the judges at the show named the 2017 Honda Ridgeline the North American Truck of the Year.
Don’t get us wrong; we’re not saying the Ridgeline doesn’t fit all the descriptions listed above. To the contrary – with a tough exterior made to hold up under heavy loads and a truck bed made to optimize storage space and be more accessible, the Ridgeline works hard and smart simultaneously. When properly equipped, it can even tow up to 5,000 lbs. in addition to having a capable powertrain with an awesome all-wheel drive system for maximum security.
The Honda Ridgeline isn’t all work and no play, however. The cabin is spacious and packed with standard and available features that give the Ridgeline an extra touch of luxury. And with that refined, contemporary design that exudes style, there’s no wonder the 2017 Ridgeline caught the attention of the judges and earned the Truck of the Year title.
