Summer is finally here, which means it’s time to enjoy one of the many attractions Florida has to offer. Whether you’re driving with the kids to Orlando for some fun in the sun or a retiree planning to head down south towards Key West, it’s important you’re prepared. Here are some summer road trip essentials to keep in mind as you head out on the open road.
A first-aid kit. Make sure you have an emergency first-aid kit that’s ready to handle any minor mishaps you might have on the road. This includes ice spray, band aids, disinfectant, pain medicine, mosquito repellent, and sunscreen. With this, you will be able to mend any bumps and bruises that could potentially happen on the go.
Kid-friendly entertainment. Driving long distances can mean that your kids or grandchildren can quickly get bored. Keep a variety of activities handy, including coloring books, magnetic car games, and road-trip games. You can even bring a frisbee along so you can stretch your legs – and your throwing arm – with them at a rest stop.
Snacks and beverages. Fight off the munchies with a cooler filled with water and snacks. Bring non-perishable items like granola, crackers, and chips, along with some guilty-pleasure items like candy as a treat when the drive feels unbearable.
